This project reimagines a kettle for Breville’s product family, guided by principles of compactness, clarity, and user connection. The final design is a 1L insulated, interactive kettle that simplifies the boiling experience through a streamlined interface, haptic temperature dial, and ambient lighting feedback. By focusing on ergonomic handling, intuitive interactions, and energy-conscious use, the design balances functional simplicity with premium user delight, while maintaining cohesion with Breville’s established brand language.

To produce the prototype, a detail CAD model was produced and 3D printed using PLA and resin. The parts were sanded and spray painted to achieve a smooth surface. The parts were assembled together using fasteners and press-fit mechanisms with correct tolerances. This process resulted in a prototype that communicates both the visual and intended use of the product.
