Suber Chair
Suber Chair is a modular lounge chair that redefines sustainable comfort through material honesty and simplicity. Designed for easy disassembly and full recyclability, it pairs warm, tactile cork with precise aluminium detailing to create a timeless balance of softness and structure. The chair invites a sensory connection with its natural texture, offering both ergonomic comfort and an environmentally conscious alternative to conventional furniture.
The design process combined material exploration with technical precision. The cork components were compression moulded to contour naturally to the body, celebrating the material’s warmth and resilience. CNC-cut aluminium legs were press-brake bent to achieve crisp geometries and lasting strength. Through sketching, 3D modelling, and physical prototyping, each iteration refined the fit, ergonomics, and modular assembly—resulting in a chair that feels crafted, grounded, and enduring.
